To study the rainfall-runoff characteristics of an urban catchment.

Experiment # 8

RAINFALL-RUNOFF CHARACTERISTICS OF URBAN CATCHMENT

Object: To study the rainfall-runoff characteristics of an urban catchment.

Apparatus: Basic hydrology tank and stopwatch.

Experimental Setup/ Methodology:

Permeability of the catchment can be reduced/eliminated by covering part/all of it with an impermeable plastic sheet.

The whole catchment is covered with plastic sheet resulting rapid runoff to a remarkable effect on hydrograph.

Observations:

Rainfall intensity = ______ lit/min = ______ lit/sec;

Storm duration = ____ sec; Runoff step = _____ lit/sec
